How it works: Each year has a block, each block has a blog section and a music section. The blog part is for sharing thoughts and events, you can click a post for it to expand. The music is to keep track of which songs I liked most this specific year.

Finally! After over 4 months, over 200 applications and rejections, after my fate looked sealed in failure and only 34 days before being kicked out of the US, a faint spark of hope appeared.
I got a position as a QA tester for Denali. It's a small position, low paying, low expertise, but goddamn I get to stay in the US. Thanks to a relentless nagging for an interview, multiple emails, and phone calls, I got an interview offer. I also met a Lebanese priest who knows the owner and offered to call him for me. This feels like so much less than I should have gotten, but it will be enough for now.
Somehow though, I feel so proud of this achievement, for the better or the worse. Pride exists in the gap between expectations and results, and for once my expectations were at a healthily low enough level that results could exceed and pride could take place. The timing for all this was unlucky as the US is going through a recession and no companies seem interested in hiring visa students.
